WE ARE THE EARS AND THE VOICE

Apart from free membership, the BCSI obtains from members their positions on matters relating to trade and local operations in order to provide a stronger voice in representing their interests to the government. Conversely, the BCSI also relays to our members important information concerning special incentives or other measures which the government has put in place to help them to operate better.

QUALITY EDUCATION

The BCSI strives to empower its members by educating them in important trade related matters. To that effect, the BCSI provides its members with both weekly educational pieces and an electronic newsletter, which are housed, along with a library of information such as trade agreements, trade news, industry news and more on the BCSI website.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

The BCSI provides its members with local and regional opportunities to provide services from the International Financial Institutions (IMF, World Bank, IADB and CDB)on a weekly basis as well as consulting and other opportunities received from our associates.

FACILITATION OF ASSOCIATION FORMATION

The BCSI realises that there are some Service Providers wishing to form associations, but have neither the time nor the resources to do so. The BCSI provides an easy-to-use-starter-kit explaining the formation, development and management of an association. The kit includes a number of templates, such as, model by-laws, which the BCSI will assist you in adapting to suit your association’s needs.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

As the umbrella body for service providers, the BCSI has links to all kinds of service providers in Barbados. Furthermore, the BCSI has established relationships with numerous Trade Facilitation Organisations not only locally and regionally, but on an international level as well. Members will have the opportunity to meet with many different people with similar mind sets and similar goals and many others who can share their experiences and expertise in regards to exporting. Furthermore, members will have occasion to meet many potential clients and associates through the BCSI.

EXTENSIVE DIRECTORY

Our extensive membership directory will be readily available to members within the BCSI and to others locally and regionally. Being listed in the BCSI's online directory can often lead to employment opportunities.

PROMOTING SERVICES

The BCSI encourages the promotion of Barbados Service Providers through Trade Shows, Trade Missions, strategic advertising via the website, directories and other advertisements. Therefore, the level of exposure and awareness about members is greatly increased.
